Under 18s

At Rockets Community Foundation, we are passionate about supporting young people and creating positive opportunities for those under 18 within our community. We believe in empowering the next generation through sport, social connection, and targeted support.

We’re proud to have developed and delivered a range of initiatives aimed at improving the wellbeing, confidence, and future prospects of young people. Some of our current and developing projects include:

  • The Crammy Café – Teen Talk
A safe, welcoming space for young people to talk, hang out, and access support when they need it most. This project encourages open conversations around mental health and wellbeing in a relaxed, youth-friendly environment.

  • SEND Multi-Sport Coaching
Inclusive, tailored coaching sessions designed for young people with special educational needs and disabilities. These sessions focus on building confidence, physical literacy, and creating fun, accessible opportunities for everyone to get active.

  • Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour
Through sport-based outreach, mentoring, and community partnerships, we’re working to offer positive alternatives and reduce anti-social behaviour. Our aim is to give young people purpose, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Some of these initiatives are already up and running thanks to generous support from funders and partners, while others are in development as we seek funding to expand our reach.

We’re always looking for ways to do more – because we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive.

Over 18s

At Rockets Community Foundation, our commitment to the community extends well beyond the sports field. We’re proud to support adults of all ages through a range of inclusive, community-focused initiatives that promote wellbeing, connection, and support for those who need it most.

We know that life can bring its challenges, and we aim to create spaces where people feel safe, supported, and part of something positive. Our current and developing projects for over 18s include:

  • Warm Space Hubs for Elderly Residents
Friendly, welcoming spaces designed to tackle loneliness and isolation, especially during the colder months. These hubs provide hot drinks, conversation, and a chance to connect with others in the local area.

  • The Crammy Café – Community Edition
A regular drop-in space for vulnerable adults, offering a relaxed environment to chat, access support, and feel part of a caring community. Whether it’s a cup of tea or a friendly face, the café is there for anyone who needs it.

  • Mental Health & Wellbeing Projects
We’re developing sessions and campaigns that encourage people to open up about their mental health. Through group conversations, community activities, and partnerships with local organisations, we aim to reduce stigma and promote positive mental health.

As with our youth programmes, some of these initiatives are already running thanks to the support of funders and local partners, while others are in the pipeline as we look to grow our impact across Cramlington and beyond.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple goal: to build a stronger, more connected community where no one feels left behind.
